Can you define the role you play as Tekton's Chief Operating Officer? What do you consider to be your primary mission?

As Chief Operating Officer at Tekton, I would define my role as follows:

  • Supervise and optimize the company's operational processes to ensure that agreed-upon deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Manage the company's financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, cost analysis, profitability, and financial risk management, in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of efficient and effective operational policies and procedures, always seeking to enhance the quality and efficiency of internal processes.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making in the company, such as helping to set the vision and long-term objectives, as well as evaluating growth and expansion opportunities.
  • Identify and manage operational and commercial risks to ensure business continuity and stability.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and business partners, seeking opportunities for collaboration and expansion.
  • Continuously analyze and evaluate the company's performance by tracking key performance indicators and implementing corrective measures as needed.

How do you keep operations running as efficiently as possible while articulating company priorities?

To keep operations running smoothly and efficiently, we continually seek opportunities for improvement in all company processes and procedures to make them more efficient and agile. Furthermore, we always keep strategic and tactical plans in mind, monitoring the progress of each of our indicators to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Finally, all this is feasible because of effective communication across the various tribes and everyone's alignment with the organization's quality standards.

As a Chief Operating Officer, you are constantly dealing with changes to how Tekton operates. How do you handle change?

Change is something that will always occur, and what we need to understand are the reasons behind it. Similarly, these changes must be communicated promptly and clearly to all involved parties, allowing us to channel all efforts positively toward achieving the set objectives.

In the context of creating new teams, which specific tech-related competencies do you seek to incorporate?

The first thing we do is look at the project's scope, as well as the activities and technologies that will be used in it. Based on this, we determine which people fit with the project to execute it in the best possible way. Similarly, what we always look for in any new person who joins Tekton is the ability to adapt, investigate, provide solutions, express their point of view on the solutions to be adopted, and be curious.

How do you allow workers to work autonomously while still achieving the goals set by the leadership team?

First, we must all be clear about the established goals and aligned to accomplish them. To that end, each team provides the activities and tasks they believe are necessary and collaborates to achieve what is proposed. In addition, it is desired that everyone in Tekton Works together, keeping open communication and receiving comments and suggestions for continuous improvement.

With the current boom in generative AI, do you believe it has been the primary focus of your work for the past few months?

It has not been our primary focus to concentrate our efforts on AI issues since we are constantly reviewing and incorporating new technologies and tools and optimizing our processes to implement each of our projects with everything at the forefront.

How can you ensure that various areas of the company take on this and consider its impact?

It is part of our culture to be curious, constantly learning, researching, and staying updated on everything related to technology, and above all, fulfill our commitments.

What are your thoughts on the importance of diversity in the technology industry?

I support it, and that is something we strive for at Tekton. The greater diversity within the organization, the more perspectives we can bring to the table, ultimately leading us to the best possible proposal.

What do you value most about working for a company like Tekton?

What I value the most is that Tekton is an environment where everyone can share ideas and improvements while also developing as individuals and professionals. In addition, each collaborator has a strong desire to continuously make a positive impact on people through the projects we implement.
